1. Introduction

MyPerfectBuild LLC ("we", "us", "our") operates the website myperfectbuild.com and the MyPerfectBuild mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our Platform.

2. Information We Collect

Information You Provide

  • Account information: email address, username, and password when you create an account
  • Profile information: avatar, banner image, city, and state (optional)
  • Content: photos, videos, build posts, forum posts, comments, and messages you create
  • Marketplace information: shipping address, phone number, company name, and other order details when buying or selling through MyPerfectBuild
  • Marketplace age verification information: if you choose to sell on MyPerfectBuild, we may ask for your date of birth to verify that you are at least 18 years old to sell
  • Payment information: for purchases completed through MyPerfectBuild, payment information is processed and stored by Stripe — we do not store your credit card details
  • Communications: messages you send to other users through our direct messaging feature

Information Collected Automatically

  • Cookies: the website uses cookies for authentication (login sessions)
  • Push notification tokens: device tokens for delivering push notifications on mobile (with your permission)
  • Camera and photo library access: with your permission, the mobile app accesses your camera and photo library to upload images — we do not access these without your explicit consent
  • Diagnostics and crash reports: if the app encounters an error, we automatically collect a technical report (error message, stack trace, device model, and operating system version) so we can find and fix the problem. These reports are anonymous — they are not linked to your account — are sent to and stored on our own servers, are used solely for debugging, and are never shared with third parties or used for advertising or analytics

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Operate and maintain the Platform
  • Process marketplace transactions and facilitate payments
  • Verify seller eligibility and prevent underage selling
  • Send push notifications about messages, follows, likes, and events (configurable in Settings)
  • Display your profile and content to other users
  • Facilitate direct messaging between users
  • Diagnose and fix crashes and technical errors
  • Enforce our Terms of Service and prevent fraud
  • Send important account-related emails (password resets, security alerts)
  • Improve the Platform based on usage patterns

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services that may receive your data:

  • Stripe — payment processing. When you buy or sell through MyPerfectBuild checkout, Stripe collects and processes your payment information. See Stripe's Privacy Policy.
  • Amazon Web Services (AWS) — cloud storage. Photos, videos, and other media you upload are stored on AWS S3 servers in the United States.
  • Expo / Apple Push Notification Service / Firebase Cloud Messaging — push notification delivery. Your device token is used to deliver notifications.
  • EasyPost — shipping label generation and package tracking. When a marketplace order is placed, buyer and seller address information is shared with EasyPost to create shipping labels and track deliveries.
  • Zoho — email delivery. Account-related emails (password resets, verification) are sent through Zoho's SMTP service.
  • Vercel — website hosting.
  • Render — backend hosting.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not share your information with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

5. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on servers in the United States. We use industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and secure token-based authentication. Media files are stored on AWS S3 with restricted access.

While we take reasonable steps to protect your information, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

Encrypted Communications

Direct messages between buyers and sellers are encrypted at rest. We may decrypt and review them only when:

  • You file a chargeback or formal dispute, and we need to defend or investigate the transaction;
  • Another user reports abuse, harassment, or fraud involving you;
  • We are required to by a valid legal request or law enforcement order.

We do not read messages for marketing, analytics, training, or any other purpose.

6. Your Rights & Choices

Access & Update

You can view and update your profile information at any time through the Settings page on the website or mobile app.

Push Notifications

You can control which push notifications you receive in the Settings page of the mobile app. You can also disable push notifications entirely through your device settings.

Seller Eligibility

If you request access to seller features, we may ask for your date of birth to confirm that you are at least 18 years old to sell. We currently store whether marketplace age verification has been completed and the time of confirmation. We do not currently retain the submitted date of birth after eligibility is checked.

Account Deletion

You can permanently delete your account at any time through the Settings page on the website or mobile app. When you delete your account, your profile, builds, listings, messages, and uploaded media are permanently removed. We may retain anonymized order and transaction records as required for tax, legal, or fraud-prevention purposes. This action cannot be undone.

7. Children's Privacy

MyPerfectBuild is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If we discover that we have collected information from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly. Users between 13 and 17 may use the Platform but may not sell on the marketplace, and may make purchases only with the consent of a parent or guardian.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top. Your continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
